PROCEDURE

Step 1

Signing contract with the service company

After considering and deciding to deliver goods through a certain service company, the first thing to do is sign a service contract. This contract is extremely important to ensure the benefits of customers.

Step 2

Booking flight

It is a must to book a flight for transportation right after signing the contract, to ensure a shortened delivery time. When receiving a Booking from a Forwarder, the service company must check over the information on the Booking such as departure airport, arrival airport, departure time, quantity, volume, etc. to prepare to deliver the goods to the Forwarder.

Step 3

Packing

Goods are packed at the warehouse of the carrier to ensure the correct packing specifications and shipping mark at the request of the importer. The carrier or forwarder will bring the goods to the warehouse at the airport. A Forwarder’s Certificate of Receipt (FCR) will be provided by the forwarder, confirming the shipment to be transported.

Step 4

Export customs clearance

When the goods are transported to the airport, it is necessary to present a set of documents for handing over the shipment to the airline and for customs clearance. The shipping service company or the forwarder will do it according to the service and freight contract.

Step 5

Release AWB

After completing export and customs procedures, MAWB will be issued by the airline. Accordingly, 1 copy of the original AWB will be sent along with the shipment to the destination airport, other copies of AWB will be handed over to and used by the service company for necessary procedures.

Step 6

Receive documents in advance by email

After the shipment with the set of documents has been delivered, the Forwarder usually emails the scanned copy of the original AWB No. 3 that they receive along with the scanned copy of all other documents to the importer.

Step 7

Arrival Notice

The carrier’s agent notifies the importer before the date of arrival. The importer needs to check over the information such as: The date of arrival, the place to keep the goods when waiting for customs clearance, the fees to be paid, etc.

Step 8

Delivery order (D/O)

When the goods arrive, the forwarder collects the original HAWB No. 2, goes to the airline or their agent to pay fees such as: handling fee, delivery order fee, labor fee, etc., and receives the D/O along with the set of documents enclosed with the goods.

Step 9

Import customs clearance

Importers can carry out customs procedures themselves or hire a forwarder in their country to do it.

Step 10

Receive the goods

The forwarder completes registration procedures to pick up the goods at the airport warehouse, liquidate the customs declaration sheet and deliver the goods to the importer.
